An Interview With Amanda - Proprieter Of Treasure Trails Herefordshire

Posted on Wednesday, 29 August 2012 02:29PM by
Thanks for the opportunity to be interviewed!

Can you tell me how long you have been in the Trail writing business

We bought the license to use the Treasure Trails brand and software way back in 2007. We'd been looking for a business that we could work on together and give up on the rat race, and the opportunity to write outdoor games for grownups and children seemed a great idea.

Can you tell me a bit more about Treasure Trails?

Yes, Treasure Trails have several products aimed at different markets. Our core product is the family Treasure Trail that is a route we've worked out around a city, town, village or even a rural beauty spot and given the walk (or drive) a purpose by creating a series of clues so that people have to solve a murder mystery, or crack a code or search for hidden virtual treasure! The Trails are suitable for all ages from about 6 upwards and are a brilliant way to explore an area.

What is it that you want your customers to experience?

We have discovered that our customers LOVE the hide and seek element of the Trails, as well as learning about a place - its history and its geography. If they already know the town or village then the chances are they will see things on the Trail that they've never noticed before and if they don't know the place then of course this is a really great way to ensure that they don't miss out on all the best bits of it.

We get a variety of comments from people when they submit their answers to our website, but the most common one is "we all had a good time, even the granny, the stroppy teenager and the tot in the pushchair got involved - a great shared experience"

Can you give me your last comment to your potential customers?

Treasure Trails tick lots of boxes - they are fun, healthy, educational, great value for money and don't clutter up your house! Best of all they get everyone out and about in the fresh air finding out new and interesting things about the places they live or are visiting. Oh and you don't have to plan too far in advance either as you can get them on your iphone, ipad, android or download them to your computer and print them out on your printer!

Is there anything else that would make a nice bio about you?

Included in our games for grownups portfolio are personalised challenges for hen parties or special occasions, team challenges and spy missions for company events, digital Trails and apps for festivals, events and attractions!
