Description: If you're looking for a 'fantastic place to get away from it all' that is easily accessible by rail or motorway from anywhere in the country then come to Woodredding holiday cottages in Ross on Wye Herefordshire. Ideally located for exploring the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills and the Welsh Border country our two holiday cottages are designed and equipped to make your stay comfortable. In Spring the orchards are in blossom and in October during the Big Apple event you can see cider-making in progress and taste the result. Later in the month the Hereford Food Festival acknowledges the county's growing reputation as a foodie paradise. Visitors have told us that they've 'had a great time walking, cycling and canoeing through the beautiful countryside'. We are open all year and our special value low season 3 night breaks are an affordable way out of the late autumn and winter blues. Our welcome begins with a tea-tray and home-made cake to refresh you after your journey. We live on site and are happy to share our local knowledge to help you get the most out of your holiday. Since we opened four years ago a quarter of our guests have been two, three or even four times. The Cider Mill Holiday Cottage Visitors always comment on the magnificent views which can be enjoyed from the comfort of the upstairs lounge or from the patio that looks over open countryside to the Malvern Hills. You can watch the pheasants strutting across the lawn, the woodpecker family at the bird feeder and the buzzards circling overhead. At dusk you might even catch a glimpse of the barn owl. The downstairs kitchen and dining area is built around the old Cider Mill and a door leads into the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need for a week or a weekend. This is a popular place for reunions of families and friends.
