Description: Haugh Wood lies approximately 5 Miles East of Hereford, 11 miles from Ross on Wye, 11 miles from Ledbury, adjacent to Broadmoor Common Nature Reserve which is also a good spot for butterflies, and some unusual birds. The nearest villages are Mordiford and Woolhope. Directions From Hereford take the B4224, you will come to a sharp bend in the road with the 'Moon' pub on your left. Bear left here and follow the signs for Haugh Wood and Woolhope. Drive about 2 miles along this road, on your left hand side you will see car parking for about 20 cars. Haugh Wood is a popular walking location for families and is push chair friendly on the stone tracks, horse riding and cycling are permitted as long as they stay to the stone track. You will find plenty of wooden seating benches which you can stop for a rest or simply to enjoy the surroundings, along with picnic tables There are a number of tracks in Haugh woods, giving plenty of choice for a casual walk at any time of the year. A very pleasant time of year to enjoy Haugh woods is in the autumn months from October as the leaves give a wonderful display of  colours. There are glorious views to take in through the colourful trees in this idyllic part of Herefordshire, with morning mists looming in the valleys. The Wye Valley Walk lies on the Western edge of the woods, and it is most certainly worth making the time for a detour! Click on the images above for more photographs
